The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show 2009

The Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show, along with the Veritas Show later in the year are the most prestigious shows in South Africa. This year’s show on 26 June attracted thousands of entries, international judges and international wines. Medals were very scarce with only 7% of entries garnering a silver medal or better.

We are delighted to report that in 2009 Flagstone has added to it’s string of medals from previous shows.

Highlights include:

• Flagstone Dragon Tree 2006 – Silver – 5th best blend at the show
• Flagstone Writer’s Block 2007 – Best Pinotage at the Show
• Flagstone Dark Horse 2007 – Silver – 10th best Shiraz out of 60

A really interesting class was the White Blends, where Flagstone Two Roads took 2nd, 3rd and 5th positions – all with different vintages!
